Travel restrictions have also been eased in UK, making it easier to travel to Spain to explore areas and do your research. The only Covid test currently needed to travel is a lateral flow test on day 2 of your return to the UK.
It’s easy to use Spain as a base to travel to the rest of Europe, and with no travel restrictions you can see family easily.
Busy property market
The ease in travel restrictions across Europe has seen a rise in activity in the Spanish property market. Sales figures for the second quarter of 2021 were 161% higher than in 2020, and house sales in August 2021 were 41% higher than same month in 2019.
British buyers are still the top purchasers on the Costa Blanca with Belgian and Swedish nationals close behind.

Following strict lockdowns across Europe many people are looking for more outside space which is easier to find in Spain and at a much lower price to many other countries – not to mention the weather to spend more time outdoors as well.
More people are now working from home and fast internet coverage in Spain makes it easy to work remotely – 81% of the Spanish population has Internet coverage at more than 100mbps while the average speed in the UK is 64mbps.
