5 things to do outdoors on the Costa Blanca

One of the most attractive parts of living in Spain to many expats, is being able to spend more time outdoors. With an average of 320 days of sunshine on the Costa Blanca every year, you won’t want to spend much time indoors!

Whether you live in Spain permanently, or visit regularly on holiday, there are plenty of things to do outdoors on the Costa Blanca. Below we have put together 5 suggestions of fun outdoor activities on the Costa Blanca…

1. Watersports

The number one outdoor activity on our list lets you enjoy the amazing weather and the fantastic beaches here in the Alicante province.

With watersports ranging from stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking, to surfing and jet skiing, there’s something to keep the whole family entertained.

You can hire jet skis in Guardamar del Segura, go parasailing in Santa Pola, take surf lessons in Torrevieja, or take advantage of the free paddle boarding lessons in Cabo Roig.

2. Boat trips

If sailing along the beautiful Costa Blanca coastline soaking up the sun and the views is something you’ve dreamed about, then you are in luck! There are plenty of places in the area to either charter a boat by yourselves or join a boat trip to a nearby island. There are also plenty of fishing and diving boat trips on offer.

3. Adventure activities

If adventure activities away from the water are more your thing, you can choose from quad biking, horse riding, paintball, archery, and much more. LoRufete in Torremendo near Torrevieja is the perfect place to do all of these things in a very picturesque setting by the resevoir.

4. Walking and hiking

Surrounded by hills and mountains, the Alicante province is a great place for those who love to go on long walks and hikes in the countryside. The walking and hiking routes on offer range from easy coastal and inland walks, to more strenuous mountain hikes. Whichever route you choose you can be sure of some fantastic views across the mountain ranges, towards the sea, or over the Spanish countryside.

5. Golf

Last but by no means least on our list of things to do outdoors on the Costa Blanca is golf. Here in Benijofar we are lucky to be close to some of the best golf courses on the Costa Blanca. La Finca Golf Course in Algorfa is considered one of the best golf courses in Spain, with 18 holes, great views, and 5* accommodation. Just up the road in Ciudad Quesada we have La Marquesa Golf Course, probably the oldest and most well-known course in the area as it is a championship course where Ryder cup winner Miguel Ángel Jiménez is a member.

Which of these outdoor activities will you be trying first?
